Is my pet having an emergency?

 
                         
 
Your pet needs immediate care if any of the following are seen:
  • Labored breathing

  • Loss of consciousness

  • Repeated vomiting

  • Occurrence of both diarrhea and vomiting

  • Bleeding of any kind

  • Ingestion of household chemicals

  • Ingestion of human medication

  • Ingestion of any foreign object

  • Pain, crying out, discomfort of any kind

  • Weakness, paralysis, loss of ability to walk or stand

  • Not eating or drinking for one or more days

Important information if your pet has an emergency...

  • Know your pet's name, age, sex and if your pet has been spayed or neutered

  • Know your veterinarian's name or hospital name

  • Your pet's current and previous medical history, illness info., current medications and doses are essential to forming a rapid treatment plan.

  • Keep your telephone line clear while waiting for an emergency service to call back.
